Home watch is defined as: A visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues. As an accredited member of the National Home Watch Association (NHWA), we use this definition as the basis for the services we provide. For more information on the NHWA please visit their site at www.nationalhomewatchassociation.org.
We are not a house sitting service and do not care for domestic animals/pets. House/pet sitters are commonly looking for a place to stay and will remain in your home during your absence. We are typically in your home on a scheduled weekly or bi-weekly basis to perform home watch, concierge or customized services.
We do not provide home maintenance services, but can perform light repairs if needed. We can connect you with other qualified vendors/contractors that can assist. We are able to coordinate any services and provide access to the property while services are completed.
Neighbors and relatives will often check on your home only if they have time. And when they do check, it is usually a drive by or a quick stop-in. Many times, a problem or condition is not found until it's too late. DesertHaus Home Watch will provide a thorough and detailed inspection of the exterior and interior of your property at scheduled intervals to detect potential issues and get them resolved before they escalate into larger, possibly devastating problems.
Please see the "Why Choose Us? page. We are fully insured, bonded and accredited through the National Home Watch Association. In order to become "accredited", the NHWA performs a full background check and verifies that all members acquire, and retain, the proper license, insurance and training for the protection of all clients. All members must abide by the NHWA's code of ethics to remain in good standing. You are encouraged to visit the NHWA's website at www.nationalhomewatchassociation.org
All inspections are performed by the owners of DesertHaus Home Watch Services, Tom and Paige Reeves. If a situation arises that prevents Tom or Paige from performing the inspection, you will be notified and we will discuss the best course of action to get the inspection completed.
For every visit that we make to your property, we will email a detailed inspection report containing photos, GPS coordinates and time/date stamp to let you know we were there. We use HomeWatchIT as our technology solution to manage our client base and provide thorough and detailed reporting for our clients.
If a minor problem is found during a home watch inspection, we will note the item in a detailed report for your review. If a larger problem is found, we will contact you and discuss how to resolve it with minimal interruption to you. If the problem requires the intervention of an outside service/contractor, we can assist with scheduling/managing the necessary service. Of course, if there is an emergency situation we will contact the necessary authorities and address the problem immediately.
Pricing for home watch services can vary depending on a number of factors such as the size of the home/property, frequency of visits, or the addition of personalized services. The best way for us to provide accurate pricing is to meet with you for a consultation and discuss your individual needs. This is a free consultation and in no way obligates you to use our services. We want you to be well informed about us and our services before trusting us with your home.
Please give us a call and we can answer any other questions you might have. If you think we might be a good fit for you, the next step is for us to meet and discuss how our Home Watch services can be of benefit. We understand that each of our clients is different and there is no "one size fits all" solution; we try to keep it simple. If by chance we are not the right fit for you, we might be able to put you in touch with someone who is.
